I will look back five years and try to explain as detailed as possible my journey

Hi!

In September 2018 i decided… I’m going to make a game. How hard could it be?

From being a gamer i suddenly wanted to become a developer and create games (everything). I loved games, but i had a “i must do it” feeling to get into the developing process, how things worked behind the fun part of playing them.

So, how did i start with this “madness” ?
Researching, how to create games on google. Was is enough, no.
My concept was to make an horror game, a first person where i created everything on my own. I wanted it to be “personal” and educational.

I ended up installing a Game Engine, in particular Unreal. I played around a while, came up with almost nothing some default materials in a box with a brand yellow light and though it looked quite scary, but this was just an empty level just a small scene that was not playable at all.
But, how should i make assets like doors, houses?
More research about creating 3D assets. Oh, Blender came across my sight.
Downloaded the software and played around. Hell no, just to move through the software, finding all tools, settings, keybinds, where to click was too much.

Since this was not doable, i started to look for educations online and found some related — a course in Blender 3D. I applied for it and got in.
The course started of very basic with learning the software creating different 3D shapes to Materials, lightning, animations and rendering.

Here is a sample from first render “Still image” to last within the coursetime:
